More than 98% of the wet Artisan Clay formula by weight comes from mineral derived materials, bio derived or natural origin materials, and water. A small remaining percentage supports preservation, stability, consistency, and performance.
Eco Forma is not fired ceramic, polymer clay, or conventional air dry clay. It begins soft and responsive, then continues developing through Dip, image and color, Ceramic Coat, and finish.

Ways to Color Eco Forma
Build color into the clay, across an opaque ceramic Dip Ground, through painted decoration, or inside a transparent coating layer.
Color in the form
Choose ready-mixed Eco Forma color clay when you want color to continue through cut edges, texture, carving, and the full body.
Opaque ceramic color
Tint Opaque Ceramic Dip Ground with Mason Stains® or compatible ceramic oxides, then dip, pour, or brush it onto the dry form.
Paint + transparent layers
Paint the dry, gesso-like ground with traditional artist media. Build clear, transparent, or translucent effects in gloss or matte acrylic coatings.

The Clay We Wanted Didn't Exist
Eco Forma began in a small Colorado studio with a material problem. We wanted something more than fired ceramic, polymer clay, or ordinary air dry clay could offer.
We wanted a heat free ceramic clay and surface system that could move with the work from shaping and refinement into image, color, texture, mixed media, and finish, with greater expressive freedom.
