Let painted layers dry or cure as required by the medium before adding an Eco Forma coating. Test the complete layer sequence when combining unfamiliar products.

Do not mix acrylic paint, acrylic ink, or acrylic medium into the wet Eco Forma clay body. Acrylic artist media may be used as painted decoration over the fully dry Opaque Ceramic Glaze, like painting over gesso.

Eco Forma gloss or matte acrylic coatings create the clear finishing layer and may be used clear or tinted for transparent and translucent effects.

Choose ready-mixed Eco Forma color clay when you want the most predictable body color. Because the color is already built into the material, it continues through cut edges, texture, and carved details.

Transparent effects do not belong in the clay body; build them later in the coating layers.

Tint Opaque Ceramic Glaze with a compatible pigment stain or ceramic oxide when you want continuous, opaque color across the surface of an Eco Forma form.

The color remains in the Opaque Ceramic Glaze layer rather than becoming part of the clay body. Begin with a small test batch and record the colorant, loading, application method, and number of coats. Evaluate the finished sample for opacity, adhesion, surface evenness, and compatibility with Ceramic Coat and the selected final coating before using the mixture on finished work.

Compatible ceramic oxides can also color the Opaque Ceramic Glaze. Oxides vary in strength, undertone, particle size, and final appearance, so do not assume equal loading or coverage across colors.

Compatible pigments such as mica or specialty effect pigments may create shimmer, glow, speckle, veiling, or other surface effects. They are not the primary route to guaranteed opacity.
